Summer Holidays! Yes!!!!!

Wednesday 24th

Hi girls!
So, you are on holiday!
That’s why you didn’t come to our last class for this academic year.
At least I was able to wish personally nice summer  to Almudena. She did come to class!

I know Natalia is in Italy. Gorgeous country! I hope you enjoy!

Almudena is going to Malta. I love Malta. But only because I love the historic background of the country, the Templar Knights and the role the island had in both World Wars… If you are expecting beautiful beaches and nightlife, you could have stayed in Spain. Ibiza is much more fun in these aspects… and you can also practise English, as it’s full of tourists!
As for the rest of you…Why don’t you write something or post some photos on the blog and let me know what your plans are or how your summer is going…

Anyway, I’d like you to know that it was a pleasure having you in my class and that I hope you continue with your English lessons next course.
(It sounds like the end of the film Almudena and I saw in class last Wednesday, doesn’t it?)
The film was called ‘In Good Company’.

So, have a wonderful, gorgeous, fantastic summer!
Congratulations to Almudena on winning our games and of course congratulations to both, Almudena and Noelia on passing their Trinity exams!
I hope the rest of you to have passed your school exams!

ENJOY THE SUMMER!!!!

Your Project: Outdoor Games in Nice Weather!

Wednesday 17th June

Hi girls! Are you tired? You must be exhausted after the games. Specially Natalia who kept skipping rope for a while!

We started the class with the stage 3 of your project: ‘Do’ As you had previously agreed, you were going to the park with the kids from the academy so as to teach them that playing outdoors is fun and there are other options apart from video games and tablets!
The weather was really nice, a bit too hot in fact. So…we kept looking for the shade all the time…well not all of us.

These were the games:

Sack race

FOOTBALL!
                 OF COURSE!!!!!!

                                  SKIPPING ROPE

C8 Wednesday from Learn & Enjoy says thanks to all the kids who participate in their games. And also the teachers! We hope you had a great time!

Then, we went back to class.
We revised the test and I sorted out (solved) your doubts.

And we finished the class with a song. This time, it was me who chose the song. I’m glad you liked it. In my opinion, the song and the video are both awesome! (beautiful, gorgeous, great)

I just want to wish the best of lucks to Almudena and Noelia for tomorrow’s Trinity exam.

Don’t forget that we have class next Wednesday 24th (Saint John’s Night!) Midsummer’s Night.
Bye! See you, then!

Countdown for the End of the Course and ...Assessment Test!

Wednesday 10th June
Hi girls!
How are you?
I guess (think, imagine) you didn’t go to the swimming pool yesterday! The weather has changed so much that it looks like (seems) autumn instead of summer! I hope the storms will go away (disappear) before next Wednesday because… What about our outdoor games if it rains!!!! What are we going to do?

Last Wednesday, we had an assessment test. It seems to me (I think) that you didn’t revise nor did you look at the blog!
Laura and Noelia missed the test!

Generally speaking, listening and reading are more or less OK.
As for grammar, you should revise the conditionals. Remember:

·        Zero conditional. (Real situation/ facts)
We use if + present simple                            present simple

If you begin the sentence with “if”, you have to use a comma.

·        First conditional.
·         Possible and very probable situation
We use if + present simple               will / won’t + infinitive
If it doesn’t rain on Saturday, we’ll go for a walk.

·         Instructions
We use if + present simple                                imperative
If you can’t attend to the meeting, email us in advance.
·        Second conditional.
·        Unreal situation
If + past simple ------------------ would / wouldn’t + infinitive
                                                  (present conditional)
If I were you, I wouldn’t wear these shoes with that suit.
(You can use ‘were’ with all person of verb ‘to be’ in 2nd conditional clauses)
·        Possible but very improbable situation

If + past simple ------------------ would / wouldn’t + infinitive
                                                   (present conditional)
If I won £5,000,000 on the lottery, I wouldn’t tell anyone, except my family.
…and that is exactly what you did!
Some of you should also revise quantifiers: much, many, little, few, too, enough etc.
As for reading, you should start reading the instructions of the exercises. If it says, “Cross out the incorrect option”, it doesn’t mean “circle the correct one.” That shows me that you don’t understand what you read!

In the reading part, you don’t have to copy the
exact words from the text but answer the questions using your own words! In the writing, don’t translate word after word from Spanish into English! Most of the times it doesn’t make sense! (It doesn’t mean anything!)
That’s about the assessment test!
Don’t forget that you have the last part of our project next Wednesday, if the weather is OK. Bring the things you need for the games because the kids are really excited about competing in the park! They will take place before the break! Don’t forget it!

So, what did we do in class yesterday?
We read and talked a little about sports. I see! You didn’t have a look at the blog. If you had, you would have seen the exercise and you could have done the quiz to get more vocabulary about sports.

Well done, girls!
