Congratulations, You've Won 5 Million Pounds!!!

Wednesday 13th May

Hello girls!!!
How are you doing?
I hope Almudena gets better (improve) as she didn’t feel very well last Wednesday. And I wonder (asked myself) what happened to Laura because she didn’t come to class.

What did we do in class last Wednesday?
We spent most of the class reviewing previous lessons.
We watched the videos on rules that I had posted on the blog. You didn’t think the rules at Japanese schools are real. Why not? The people explaining the rules are Japanese. So, they must know what they are talking about!
Talking about Japanese issues. So, Almudena, Noelia and Natalia went to the ‘Manga festival’ I’m glad (happy) you enjoyed there! You are really mad about Manga (you really love it).

Obligation
Must (I must, when you impose
the obligation yourself)
Have to
(usually for rules  or laws)
Prohibition
Mustn’t /Can’t /
 isn’t- aren’t allowed to

No necessity
Don’t / doesn’t have to

Last Wednesday you were very lucky because you won £5 Million on the lottery. But it seems that “Money doesn’t bring happiness” because the result at the end of the game was that. You didn’t know what to do with your money and although you had a lot of money, you were really bored! The second round it was a bit better. Some of you managed to find a balance between money and happiness. You kept half of the money and you gave away (gave as a present) the other half and that was rewarding (made you feel very happy)! Carmen’s business in football didn’t get her anywhere. She ended up broke! (She lost all of her money at the end) and Andrea was happy but she lost all of the money. She disagrees with the result. She would like to have the money. It seems you can’t be happy if you don’t have money!
Some of you agreed in keeping your winning a secret, give some money away (give some money as a present) to your relatives (your family). Others agreed in going on (continue) working.
Almudena and Natalia went on a cruise and met a multimillionaire. Luckily they didn’t get married! He was a con man (impostor) and just wanted their money. They invested their money in low risk schemes and kept it. They didn’t have a fortune but they kept their family and friends. They lived happily.
This game helped us to review going to as well as first and second conditionals.

And we finished the class with the song Andrea brought for us. “Just in love” by Selena Gómez.
